ABOUT TOUR

Everything you want to know

Welcome to our walking history and culture tour in Vladivostok.

This excursion will introduce you to the history and culture of Vladivostok.

You’ll go back in time when walking on the streets of Millionka, learn a lot about the ancient and modern history of Primorye in the Arseniev Museum. Once we exit the museum we’ll walk through the Vladivostok central square to the S-56 submarine . It once was a functional military unit and later it was turned to a museum. You’ll get to know the history of the Russian Pacific Fleet, the interior of the submarine and even feel like a sailor when climbing through the small round corridors.

Later you’ll visit the memorial arch, originally built in 1891 in honor of Tzesarevich Nicolay, who then became Nicolas II. The Arch was destroyed in 1927 as a symbol of the “tsarist regime, hated by the people”, and reconstructed in 2003.

Next in line is the house of Eleanor Lord Pray, an american woman who lived in Vladivostok until 1930, when she was deported by the Soviet Party. She is famous for writing a series of letters to her family in the States, describing her life in Vladivostok in Imperial times. Those letters were published and became the basis of a permanent exhibition in the Arseniev Museum.

At last, the unique funicular railroad will take you to the beautiful viewpoint of the Saints Cyril and Methodius, one of the most beautiful places of Vladivostok. Here you can take a look on all of the places you’ve visited during the day from the bird’s eye view and see the amazing panorama of the city.
