Vladivostok night lights

Everything you want to know

Vladivostok is a beautiful place not only in daytime. Nighttime will let you look at the city from a different angle.

The city has many viewpoints in all areas. The most popular observation point is the Cyril and Methodius monument. It offers a view of the Golden Horn Bay, the Golden Bridge and the Port of Vladivostok. It’s a truly amazing view. The place is popular all year round, but in summertime it attracts especially many tourists, because it’s warm outside and they can enjoy the view longer. There’s a tradition in the newlywed couples to come here and hang a lock on the fence of the observation deck. It is believed to bring luck and happiness to the family.

The next point of interest in the evening is the Cesarevitch embankment. Cesarevich was the title of a heir to the throne in the Russian Empire. The embankment was opened in 2012 as a part of the new city infrastructure and the preparations for the APEC Summit in 2012. Before the summit this territory belonged to Dalzavod – the main city dockyard, which is now being reconstructed.

Vladivostok doesn’t sleep at night, like all the big cities. The bar street is always full of people and the main city streets are lit up beautifully in the nighttime. The lighting emphasizes the architectural forms of the old town buildings. The centre of the city was designed by western architects and that gives it an european charm. Many people from central Russia believe it looks very much like Saint-Petersburg. Most of the buildings are more than a hundred years old and are included in the Russian architectural heritage.

When spring comes, the fountains on the walking street make the city even more beautiful. The biggest one with multicolored backlight is on the central embankment. On weekend and holidays evenings residents and visitors of the city enjoy a real fountain show with music.

The excursion finishes at the Tokarevskiy lighthouse which is peaceful and silent at night, and offers a great view of the Golden Horn and Amurskiy bays.
